Tributes to Retiree Arun Kumar S.V.

A felicitation ceremony was held by the Badagabettu Credit Co-operative Society of Udupi for Arun Kumar S.V., who retired as the Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies. The event took place at the Mini Hall of Ajjarkadu Purabhavana in the city.
The chief guests at the ceremony were Sukanya, Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Kundapura Sub-Division, and Raviraj Hegde, Director of KMF. During the event, Jayakar Shetty Indrali, the president of the society, was also honored for being appointed as the Chief Commissioner of the Bharat Scouts and Guides District Association, Udupi.

Prior to the felicitation ceremony, a training session on personality development and skill enhancement was conducted for the society’s staff by M.D. Vishwanath Nair, the retired Managing Director of Dakshina Kannada District Central Co-operative Bank.
The society’s General Manager, Rajesh V. Sherigar, welcomed the guests, and the Deputy Manager, Praveen Kumar, delivered the felicitation speech for retired Arun Kumar S.V. The event was hosted by Naveen K., the branch manager of the society’s Malpe branch. Vice President George Samuel expressed his gratitude and delivered the vote of thanks.

Financial Contribution of Rs. 12 Lakh for Educational Support

Badagabettu Credit Co-operative Society Ltd., a renowned cooperative society in Udupi, is recognized for its notable achievements in cooperative services, addressing societal aspirations, and offering extensive social and economic support with a selfless and responsible approach.
As part of its commitment to education and social service, the society sanctioned Rs. 12 lakh for students of Kannada medium schools in the district. This initiative included the distribution of valuable notebooks, educational materials, and recognition under the “Pratibha Puraskar” program. The event was held on Saturday, 22nd June 2024, at Ajjarkadu Town Hall, Udupi.
Udupi ASP, S.T. Siddalingappa, inaugurated the event and emphasized the importance of continuous learning beyond textbooks to achieve success and develop the ability to face competitive exams. He encouraged students to cultivate habits such as reading newspapers and literary works to acquire essential life skills. Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Mr. Ganapati, highlighted the importance of setting clear goals and working hard to achieve them.

Free notebooks were distributed to students from over 35 Kannada medium schools in the district.

International Women’s Day

Under the sponsorship of the association, International Women’s Day was celebrated on March 11, 2018, at the Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Hall. The event was inaugurated by Akshaya Gokhale, a lecturer from Karkala.

The program was attended by Jayakar Shetty Indrali, General Manager of Badagabettu Credit Co-operative; Sheela K. Shetty, Vice President of the Zilla Panchayat; Tallur Shivaram Shetty of the Tallur Family Trust; Girija Shivaram Shetty, President of the Malpe Lions Club; Veena Shetty, President of the Shankarapura Bantara Women’s Forum; and members of the Women’s Associations Union, including Vasanthi Rao Koradkal, Radha Das, Mamatha S. Shetty, and Geetha Ravi.

Jayakar Shetty Indrali Elected as President of Udupi District Co-operative Union


General Manager of Badagabettu Credit Co-operative Society Mr. Jayakar Shetty Indrali unanimously elected as the President of Udupi District Co-operative Union For the period 2019-20 to 2023-24.

The event for distributing free notebooks, health cards, and bicycles to the beneficiaries was organized.

In the event held at the Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Sabha Bhavan, over 50,000 notebooks worth approximately ₹15 lakh were distributed to students from 100 Kannada medium schools and colleges in the district. In collaboration with Lambard Memorial (Mission) Hospital, the “Lambard Health Card” was distributed to 1,900 members of the society, providing convenience to both members and customers. The society also distributed 200 seats to the Dr. G. Shankar Government Women’s First Grade College and Postgraduate Studies Center, Udupi, and 50 seats to the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Youth Association, Chendkala, Kodavuru. Additionally, the society organized a financial assistance distribution program. As part of the Go-Green campaign, aimed at promoting energy conservation and environmental protection, bicycles were distributed to the society’s staff to encourage these initiatives.

The event was presided over by Dr. M.N. Rajendra Kumar, President of the Karnataka State Co-operative Marketing Federation and Dakshina Kannada District Central Co-operative Bank. The chief guests of the event included Shri K. Raghupathi Bhat, MLA of Udupi Assembly Constituency, Shri Lalaji R. Mendon, MLA of Kaup Assembly Constituency, former minister Shri Pramod Madhwaraj, Shri Praveen B. Nayak, Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Udupi District, and Shri Purushothama P. Shetty, Coordinator of the Centenary Committee.

The event was welcomed by Shri Sanjeev Kanchan, President of the Society, and the inaugural speech was given by General Manager Jayakar Shetty Indrali. Prior to the main session, Dr. Gananath Shetty Ekkaru conducted an informative session for the attending school and college students. Various entertainment programs were organized by Bhargavi Group of Entertainment and Tanushree Pitrody. Shri Praveen Kumar expressed his gratitude, and Shri Naveen K managed all the activities during the event.

International Yoga Day Celebration

The 4th International Yoga Day celebration was organized by the Badagabettu Credit Co-operative Society at the organization’s hall, with the participation of the society’s staff and board members. The event was inaugurated by Mohammad Maula, a member of the Society’s Centenary Committee.

Yoga trainers Satish Kumar Malpe, Raghavendra, and board members Jayashetty, Jayananda Maindan, Padmanabha Nayak, along with General Manager Jayakar Shetty Indrali, were present at the event.
